Several months ago, I had a great experience. Rosmana, Vanny, and I won the pharmacy olympiad selection process held faculty of pharmacy Airlangga University in our school. We initially did not believe that we succeeded in represent Banjarmasin region to go to Surabaya to follow the next round. In fact, we think that Olympiad test given at that time was difficult.
On the day of our departure to Surabaya, we went to the Syamsudin Noor airport one hour before the plane departed. We were accompanied by our teacher, Ma’am Siti Fatimah. Arriving at Juanda airport, Surabaya, we went straight to campus C Airlangga university. We stayed at Airlangga’s university student campus dorm. Before we stayed, we must complete a form first. I'm rooming with Vanny, Rosmana shared a room with participant from other cities, while Ma’am Sifa just alone. We were very tired, but we must prepare our poster first, which is one requirement that must be made semi-final participants. After finished it and take a dinner, we slept very soundly.
On the first day of competition, we should not be late. Bus will leave at 6 am, so we had to get up at least four-thirty in the morning. We take a bath turned with other participants. And then, we wear our pride school uniforms and hurried to breakfast. We boarded a bus provided to the Faculty of Pharmacy Airlangga University, the place competition was held.
Arriving there, we must register first to get participants ID card. We must submit a copy of student card, photo, and temporary olympiad certificate. After register, we are asked to enter the competition room, while teachers are not allowed to enter.
Before the competition was started, held the opening session and we were very surprised in fact that we are one of the participants who succeeded beat the 1500 participants from all over Indonesia. And in that room there are 50 semi-finalis team from different cities in Indonesia. We had time to feel inferior to other participants who definitely are people who elect to follow this olympiad, but we must to fight to make our school proud.
Olympiad began, the questions displayed on the screen and we must answer in the shortest time possible. Although the questions are very difficult, we can answer some of them. The result was announced, there were the first 3 team to succeeded progress to the final round, we were not one of them. But, the next day will be chosen one more team to progress to the final round. That means there is a chance for us.
Determination day came around, whether we succeeded progress to the finals or not. There are 10 questions given, but we were only able to answer four questions. Finally, we were not succeeded advance to the final round. But we are quite proud because we have represent our school in this national pharmacy Olympiad event which is held by one of the best universities in Indonesia. This is a precious experience and will not be forgotten.
